A Road Trip Built Around the Shot
Some projects start with a concept.
This one started with a road.
We had the opportunity to work with Subaru on a project that quickly turned into one of those trips you do not forget. The idea was simple from the start. Get behind the wheel of a Subaru Outback Wilderness and build a story around what the experience actually feels like.
Not in a studio. Out in the real world.
Starting in Utah
We began in Salt Lake and headed south, letting the route shape the story.
Our first stop was Monument Valley. We explored the area on horseback and camped with a view of the Mittens. It felt like being inside a film, and that atmosphere naturally carried into the visuals we captured.
From there, we continued through Escalante, Natural Bridges, and the Valley of the Gods. Each location added something different, both visually and in how the vehicle interacted with the environment.
Where the Wilderness Trim Fits
One moment that stood out was reaching the Temple of the Sun and Moon.
Getting there was part of the story. The road was long, rough, and unpredictable. We crossed small streams, handled uneven terrain, and leaned into the kind of conditions where the Wilderness trim actually makes sense.
That is where the best shots come from. Not when everything is controlled, but when the environment pushes the experience.
Taking It Further
We finished the Utah leg in Kanab, then made our way to California.
In Bishop, we spent time in the Alabama Hills, driving along Movie Road and heading toward Mount Whitney. The shift in landscape and light added a completely different layer to the project.
It gave us contrast. A different tone. More depth to the overall story.
Creating With Purpose
Throughout the trip, everything was intentional.
Every stop, every drive, every location had a purpose. We were not just documenting the journey. We were building a collection of visuals that Subaru could use across multiple channels.
We captured a mix of video and photography, all focused on showing the product in the right setting.
More Than Just a Road Trip
This project was not just about travel.
It was a full production on the move.
A mix of story, environment, and product, all working together to create something that feels real.
What Comes Next
We will be sharing more from this project soon.
For now, this is a look at how we approach creating content in real places.
Work With Us
If you are looking to create content that feels grounded, intentional, and built around real environments, we would love to collaborate.
