Garmont: Across Every Terrain
We partnered with Garmont to document how their footwear performs across different terrains and conditions.
Rather than focusing on features, the goal was to observe the product in motion.
How it supports movement.
How it holds up over time.
How it adapts to its surroundings.
Working with the Environment
Outdoor products don’t exist in isolation.
They are shaped by the terrain they move through and the conditions they’re exposed to.
For this project, we chose to work within those environments instead of controlling them.
Letting the landscape, texture, and unpredictability influence the outcome.
Observing Use, Not Staging It
The approach was simple.
Follow the user.
Stay close to the movement.
Capture what naturally unfolds.
This meant avoiding over-direction and allowing moments to develop on their own. The result feels closer to how the product is actually experienced.
Translating Function into Visuals
Function is not always visible at first glance.
It reveals itself through repetition, pressure, and variation in use.
To communicate that, we focused on rhythm and continuity.
Building sequences that reflect how the product performs over time, rather than isolating single moments.
Keeping the Process Light
A lighter setup allowed for more flexibility.
Fewer constraints.
More responsiveness to the environment.
This made it easier to move with the terrain rather than against it, keeping the visuals grounded and consistent with the product’s purpose.
Outcome
The final result reflects a product that is built to move through different conditions without interruption.
Not over-explained.
Not over-styled.
Just observed in use.
Work With Us
If you’re building products that are meant to perform, we can help translate that into visuals that feel direct and real.
